Steve Davies lives in a labyrinth of extensive burrows in the tropical forests of Wales. Beautiful iridescent blue legs. Light brown carapace and abdomen with chevron-like stripes. Will bob head up and down when alarmed. Long, rounded wings and flies with a slight undulation. A prominent member of The Black Humour Bloc and a group of galaxies that includes Centaurus A and NGC 5253. Not for the faint hearted as can be a bit of an escapologist.

Lovely. I've been much preoccupied lately with a Victorian classification of the Spirit Basis of Belief and Custom. Bats and owls are included as Tomb-haunters in the Metempsychosis section of Category F, Animal Worship. The Tomb-haunters are between the House-haunters and the Man-eaters, which would seem to reinforce your point.
